Hand cut & assembled as a real book.
As a child, I always loved books that really made me feel involved, books that allowed me to explore while reading. This book is only illustrations without text. I love the idea of the reader being able to create their own narrative to the story. As I was beginning to develop this idea, I realized how women aren't represented in a lot of fields, especially in children's books. I wanted to create a reading experience where you get to discover the true identity of the character at the story's conclusion. It gives you a chance to realize that we assume gender for various roles, even in children's literature. Women can be strong and can be anything, even a Lumber Jack.
